Whistleblower Policy

Trauma Recovery Alliance is committed to operating with integrity, transparency, and accountability. We encourage staff, volunteers, board members, contractors, and partners to speak up if they have concerns about unethical, illegal, or improper conduct related to our organization.

This policy exists to ensure concerns can be raised safely, responsibly, and without fear of retaliation.

Reporting Concerns

Individuals are encouraged to report, in good faith, any suspected misconduct, including but not limited to:

  • Fraud, theft, or financial mismanagement

  • Misuse of organizational resources

  • Violations of laws, regulations, or organizational policies

  • Conflicts of interest not properly disclosed

  • Abuse of authority or unethical behavior

  • Actions that threaten the safety, dignity, or rights of participants, staff, or volunteers

Reports may be made confidentially and can be submitted verbally or in writing to a member of leadership or the Board of Directors.

Protection From Retaliation

Trauma Recovery Alliance strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. This includes protection from intimidation, harassment, discrimination, or adverse treatment related to reporting a concern.

Any individual who engages in retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including removal from their role or termination of their relationship with the organization.

Confidentiality

All reports will be handled with care and discretion. Information will be shared only with those who need to know in order to review, investigate, and address the concern appropriately. Confidentiality will be

maintained to the greatest extent possible.

Investigation and Response

Trauma Recovery Alliance will promptly review all credible reports and take appropriate action when warranted. Investigations will be conducted fairly, objectively, and without bias. Individuals who raise concerns may be informed, when appropriate, that the matter has been reviewed and addressed.
