IRIS Program

(Integrated Response to Intervention & Support)

 

The IRIS Program is a partnership through the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office designed to respond to mental health–related calls with care, de-escalation, and support, not punishment.

​

IRIS focuses on:

  • Mental health crisis response

  • Connecting individuals to local services

  • Reducing unnecessary arrest or hospitalization

  • Supporting families during difficult moments

​

This program exists to help people get connected to care safely and respectfully.

C.B.H.C. 

Charlotte Behavioral Health Care provides a wide range of mental health and substance-use services for adults, children, and families in Charlotte County.

 

Services include:

  • Outpatient counseling and therapy

  • Psychiatric and medication support

  • Crisis intervention services

  • Community-based mental health programs

 

They work with individuals across different life stages and levels of need.

Vet Center

The Port Charlotte Vet Center provides confidential, community-based counseling for veterans, service members, and their families in a non-hospital setting.

 

Vet Centers are designed for individuals who may prefer support outside of traditional medical systems and want care that feels personal, private, and respectful of lived experience.

 

Services include:

  • Individual and group counseling

  • Support for combat-related stress and trauma

  • Counseling for military sexual trauma

  • Family and relationship counseling

  • Transition and readjustment support
